HOUSTON, TX (July 26, 2023) – NISA Nation announces Matias Almeyda Futbol Club will participate in the Texas Region for the upcoming season.

Formed in 2019, Matias Almeyda FC is the top team for the Matias Almeyda Training Academy, one of the premier youth soccer enviroments in the greater Houston area. 

"We are extremely excited to have the opportunity to join NISA Nation," Matias Almeyda FC Vice President Sebastian Zalazar said. "NISA is a quality organization and we are thrilled to be able to compete at a highly competitive level. Joining NISA Nation will unlock a lot of true talent for our club and will present a new challenge, one that our club has been waiting for."

The Matias Almeyda Training Center is a 32-acre soccer-specific facility with three FIFA-regulation turf fields included in its setup.

Famed professional coach Matias Almeyda is owner of the training center and the academy that bears his name. He currently serves as head coach of AEK Athens in Greece. 

Matias Almeyda FC previously played in the United Soccer League (UPSL) beginning in 2019 and won the UPSL's Texas South Division in the 2022 Spring Season.
