Michigan Stars Defeats Chattanooga 2-1 in Home Opener

On Saturday, August 8, 2020. Michigan Stars FC opened the 2020-21 soccer season for the NISA League at Ultimate Soccer Arena’s Outdoor Stadium in Pontiac, MI. The teamed faced off against Chattanooga FC. The first goal of the game was scored by Kyle Nuel at six minutes in for an early lead, where he intercepted a pass, took the ball straight up to the net and drive it in to the side.

Chattanooga FC player Ian McGrath scored a goal for his team at the 59th minute on a penalty kick. The final and winning goal was scored by midfielder, Steven Juncaj, after a pass from Alexander Satrustegui. Juncaj streaked down the field 18 yards before executing a fierce right-footed shot that sailed right past the opposing team’s goalkeeper.

The Stars (1-0) will travel east to play the New York Cosmos on Saturday, Aug. 15, before returning home to face Detroit City FC on Aug. 22 at Ultimate Soccer Arenas Outdoor Stadium.
